The Manchurian Myth: Nationalism, Resistance, and Collaboration in Modern China Hardcover – October 2, 2000
Purchase options and add-ons
After Japan's September 1931 military strike leading to a takeover of the Northeast, the Chinese responded in three major ways: collaboration, resistance in exile, and resistance on the ground. What motives prompted some Chinese to collaborate, others to resist? What were conditions like under the Japanese? Through careful reading of Chinese and Japanese sources, particularly local government records, newspapers, and journals published both inside and outside occupied Manchuria, Mitter sheds important new light on these questions.

- Reviewed in the United States on December 23, 2013if u dont want ur brain to be contaminated by this lies and distortions, check out the wiki's description of the "tanaka memorial", which was exposed by other than iris chang of the "rape of nanking" fame as a forgery. and it was also this kind of sinister lie that took iris chang's life at the height of her fame. just as tanaka memorial being a forgery that poisoned the bloods between the chinese and japanese by a publication in shanghai in 1927, the nanking massacre also turned out to be a fabrication, as reconfirmed by the widows of the spies under chiang kai shek, with his spy master dai li and trusted deputy qian xinming.
anyway, the following video clip might save u some money and time from wasting on this propaganda book:

also, the manchu government of the qing dynasty was the most prosperous and splendid period in china's history. it's fall was due to the jewish scheme of drugging the chinese dragon with opium and her resistance to turn into barbarism by militarizing herself like japan did(which disastrous results). but it was japan's passing of baton to mao that finally liberated china from the western barbarians and their pet asian dogs' hell.
