Carlos Fraenkel teaches in the departments of philosophy and Jewish studies at McGill University in Montreal. From 2013 to 2015 he was a professor of comparative religion and philosophy at Oxford, and a fellow of Lady Margaret Hall. He is the author of Teaching Plato in Palestine: Philosophy in a Divided World and Philosophical Religions from Plato to Spinoza, and his writing has appeared in the New York Times, the Nation, the London Review of Books, and the Times Literary Supplement.
