Mike Downey is an author, filmmaker and activist. He has production credits for well over 100 feature films. He is Chairman of the European Film Academy and Honorary President of the LUX Film Award, presented by the European Parliament. He is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts and was awarded an O.B.E. in the Queen’s Birthday Honours List in 2021 for his services to British Cinema. Istria Black is his second novel.
