Paul Cooper is a podcaster, historian and the author of two acclaimed historical novels, River of Ink (2016) and All Our Broken Idols (2020). He gained his PhD in the cultural and literary significance of ruins from the University of East Anglia, and has taught there and at Warwick University. He has written for The New York Times, the BBC, National Geographic, New Scientist and Discover magazine. He writes, produces and hosts the Fall of Civilizations podcast, which, since its launch in 2018, has garnered over 100 million downloads and over 1 million YouTube subscribers. Paul lives in Norwich.
