“This novel sounds as though it will be a big, challenging read, and it does cover a huge amount of ground but, actually, there are very few words on the page. The verse is fragmentary, leaving masses of white space. This creates a sense of the snow fields, visually, on the page. I absolutely loved this book. There’s a lot of references to Norse mythology.
