“All the books in the ‘Dark Tower’ series could function as standalone books if you wanted, but you get so much more if you read them all. But that’s perhaps 4000 pages all in, so I wouldn’t read them back to back. At base, it’s a very simple story. You have ‘The Gunslinger’ who is trying to save the world by saving the Dark Tower. So he travels between our world and other worlds, but also around the Dark Tower. He meets other people and they travel through worlds trying to save the tower. This is the best one, I think.
