The Hallmarked Man
by Robert Galbraith
🎧 Winner of an AudioFile Earphones Award for a truly exceptional audiobook
The Hallmarked Man is the 8th book in Robert Galbraith’s Cormoran Strike series, featuring Afghan war vet Cormoran Strike and his detective agency partner Robin Ellacott. The plot is set in the world of freemasonry and the discovery of a murdered man in a silver shop with a hallmark on his body. The book has the slowburn feel of the previous books in the series, following the partners as they go out on cases for clients while also living their lives. Like other books in the series, it’s long: around 900 pages. The audiobook, as previous books in the series read by Robert Glenister, is excellent.
Recommendations from our site
“If you love long mystery books where you spend a lot of time with the main protagonists, the Cormoran Strike books by Robert Galbraith (a pen name for J.K. Rowling) are the way to go. You do, however, need to start with the first book in the series, The Cuckoo’s Calling; otherwise, it’s hard to be invested in the characters. The books work particularly well as audiobooks, all narrated by Robert Glenister. “ Read more...
