Children's Librarians Recommend Books for Kids and Young Adults
Last updated: March 14, 2025
Across the world, librarians are some of the most passionate people when it comes to promoting books for learning, and reading for pleasure.
In this section we have interviews with children’s librarians who recommend books for kids and young adults. Among them, Barbara Band, former President of the UK’s Library and Information Association, advocates reading with children as early as possible and recommends the best books for babies, while Alison King explains the appeal of verse novels for kids.
We also have an interview with children’s author and health policy advisor Bahram Rahman on The Best Books about Libraries for 4-8 Year Olds, where he discusses the importance of libraries and librarians, even in an age of digital resources and algorithms.
