Five Books and Waterstones present

Italian Book Club — January meeting

Waterstones, William Baker House, Broad St, Oxford OX1 3AF

9th January 2017

The next meeting of our Italian book club will be on Monday 9th of January at 6.30pm and we’ve  decided to tackle the dramatic topic of migration.

The book we should read is The Optician of Lampedusa written by Emma Jane Kirby, a novella based on a true story.
If you would like to read more about this issue, we also suggest In the Sea there are Crocodiles by Fabio Geda and for those of you who would like to read something in Italian, Non Dirmi Che Hai Paura by Giuseppe Catozzella.

Please do not hesitate to contact us for any queries: Rosalinda ([email protected]).

In the meantime we wish you a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year full of good books!

Heads up for February meeting

In order to have more time to buy and read, we have also planned ahead for the February meeting. For then, the book will be The Leopard, the very famous novel by Giuseppe Tomasi di Lampedusa (original title Il Gattopardo).
