James MacManus is the managing director of The Times Literary Supplement and a former foreign correspondent who reported from Europe, Africa and the Middle East. James’s first book, Ocean Devil: The Life and Legend of George Hogg, was made into a film starring Jonathan Rhys Meyers. Since then he has published seven further including On the Broken Shore, Black Venus, Sleep in Peace Tonight, and Love in a Lost Land.
