Jonathan Kwan is Lecturer in Modern History at the University of Nottingham. His publications include the book Liberalism and the Habsburg Monarchy, 1861-1895 and various articles on Bohemian state rights, the Transylvanian Saxons, Austro-German liberal politics and Viennese Jews. At present he is researching the life of Napoleon II, the Duke of Reichstadt, and editing a book on the 1867 Austro-Hungarian Compromise.
