Alleged Assassination Plots Involving Foreign Leaders
by Rockefeller Commission
In early 1975, when confidence in US government was at an all-time low, the Rockefeller Commission began to investigate US involvement in foreign assassination plots. The result of that investigation, involving thousands of documents, tens of thousands of sworn testimonies and over a hundred witnesses, is known as the Church Report after Senator Frank Church. It makes fascinating reading. Details about Operation Mongoose, the anti-Castro plots devised by the CIA between 1960 and 1965 are positively surreal.
