Yaron Matras is Professor of Linguistics at the University of Manchester. He is editor of the journal Romani Studies and has written a number of books on Romani language and history including Romani in Britain: The afterlife of Language, Romani: A Linguistic Introduction and, most recently, I Met Lucky People: The Story of Romani Gypsies.
