These are my personal favourite books regarding Philosophy of Psychedelics and, more specifically, the psychedelic experience. Each one of these works involve what you would normally refer to as ‘trip reports’ but that is not all that they deal with. The Doors of Perception by Aldous Huxley is, in my opinion, the greatest book ever written on altered states of consciousness in general. Notably, Noumenautics is a collection of many essays (not all of which are concerned with psychedelia) from a contemporary philosopher, and it covers a lot of philosophical ground. I would be surprised if one did not emerge after reading any of these five books as a more open-minded individual.
