Economics Books for Kids

Economics is generally not taught to kids until well into high school. As a result, many kids never pick up a books about economics in their lives, in spite of the central importance the subject enjoys in policymaking, institution design and market regulation everywhere, at both a national and an international level. This state of affairs is not for lack of books that can introduce younger children to the subject.
Here experts recommend books to introduce young children to the subject. Yana van der Meulen Rodgers, an economist at Rutgers University, chooses two lists of five books with economic themes, introduced in accessible and entertaining ways. The first is economics books for younger kids from, 5-10 years and the second list is more suitable for 11-15 years.
