Hassan Abbas is a fellow of the Asia Society in New York and Quaid-i-Azam Professor at the South Asia Institute, Columbia University. He is also senior adviser at the Belfer Center for Science and International Affairs at Harvard University. He served in the administrations of both Benazir Bhutto and Pervez Musharraf, and was a member of the Police Service of Pakistan in Northwest Frontier Province in the late 1990s.
