Scott Soames

Scott Soames is Distinguished Professor of Philosophy at the University of Southern California, specialising in the philosophy of language and the history of analytic philosophy. He has published extensively on truth, reference, meaning, the relationship between semantics and pragmatics, and the nature of syntactic and semantic theories of natural languages. His latest book is Philosophical Analysis in the Twentieth Century: The Age of Meaning.
