Jorge Luis Borges was a force of nature. He created a new style of literature and dealt with a myriad of themes: history, time, labyrinths, dreams, epic sagas, all in an ever new and astonishing way. He was able to interpret authors and books long forgotten and misunderstood. Hawthorne, Whitman, Henry James, Eça de Queiroz, Chesterton, H. G. Wells, the Arabian Nights and the Icelandic sagas were masterfully deciphered by him.
