The Secret History of Costaguana
by Juan Gabriel Vásquez
The author has rightly been called one of the most original new voices of Latin American literature by none other than Mario Vargas Llosa and there are good reasons for that. The novel is set in London in 1903 via Panama and Colombia. It tells the story of two men destined to clash. On the one hand there is the Colombian Jose Altamirano and the other man is the British novelist Joseph Conrad.
