Bernard Haykel is Professor of Near Eastern Studies at Princeton University. A specialist in Islamic law, politics and history, he is Director of The Institute for the Transregional Study of the Contemporary Middle East, North Africa and Central Asia and Director of the Princeton Project on Oil and Energy in the Middle East.
